Our Story

Every meaningful place begins with a story.

For Boutique Vollmar, that story began years ago with a shared dream between BV’s founder, Michael Lynn Attaway, and his mother.

From 2017 through 2020, they owned a small boutique called Accents & Accessories. Housed inside the first home owned by his great-grandparents, the boutique quickly became more than a place to shop. It became a place where conversations were shared, friendships were formed, and every display was thoughtfully arranged to inspire those who walked through the door.

Although the location held deep family significance, it was not ideally situated for the visibility and traffic a growing boutique needed. They also did not have the strongest marketing strategy in place. Then, like many small businesses, A&A faced the unprecedented challenges brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic. Ultimately, those challenges led them to to close A&A’s doors.

But Michael’s love for owning a boutique never faded.

“I missed discovering beautiful home décor that could help transform a house into a home. I missed finding clothing, jewelry, and accessories that helped women express their personal style and accent their beauty. I missed creating seasonal displays, uncovering unique inventory ideas, and welcoming guests who often left feeling more like friends than customers.

For years, I hoped the opportunity to build another boutique would come.

When the time was right, Boutique Vollmar became that opportunity.

The name Vollmar carries a special meaning. It was inspired by my mother's maiden name, Folmar. The Folmar name traces back to Germany, where earlier variations included Volmar, Volmer, and, in some instances, Vollmar. I chose the Vollmar spelling as a way to honor those family roots while giving the boutique a name that reflects both its heritage and its future.

Today, Boutique Vollmar is located along Highway 154, the primary road leading into and out of Yantis, Texas. The location carries another unexpected connection to my family's story. When my great-aunt was a child, she lived next door and often played with the little girl who called this house home. Decades later, life has come full circle, and that same house now welcomes guests as Boutique Vollmar.

I like to think some places simply wait for the right story to continue.

Boutique Vollmar exists for something greater than selling beautiful things.

I believe the spaces we create become the backdrop of our lives. The dining table where birthdays are celebrated. The candle that brings comfort after a long day. The perfect outfit that gives someone confidence before an important moment. The thoughtful gift that says what words sometimes cannot. These are the quiet details that become woven into our memories.

Every collection is thoughtfully curated with the hope of helping you create a life filled with beauty, warmth, and meaning.

Boutique Vollmar was never intended to be simply a place to shop.

It is a place to wander.

To discover.

To gather.

To be inspired.

Whether you are searching for the perfect gift, refreshing a favorite corner of your home, finding something that makes you feel beautiful, enjoying a quiet moment in our Gathering Nook, or simply stopping by to say hello, I hope you will feel welcomed from the moment you arrive.

Every home has a story.

I hope Boutique Vollmar can become a small part of yours.

Welcome home.”
